Florence Pugh Upcoming Movies: What’s to Come for the Midsommar Star

Florence Pugh is a 25-year-old English actress. She made her professional debut in the mystery film The Falling (2014) and gained recognition for her leading role as an unhappily married woman in the independent drama Lady Macbeth (2016). This performance won her the BIFA Award for Best Actress.

Her most notable recent role is that of Dani Ardor in the horror film Midsommar. Whilst there were mixed opinions on the film, audiences knew Pugh's performance was great.

Dani's psychological trauma affects her relationship with Christian, her lover. However, when they visit their friend's ancestral commune in an effort to mend things, it changes their lives forever.

So what's to come for Florence Pugh? Quite a bit, she has landed some notable roles over the years to come, she will first be dipping into the world of Marvel in Black Widow then later on back to some tension-building horror in Don't Worry Darling.

Black Widow - July 9th 2021 (Completed)

Featuring in a Marvel film is many actors dream and a sign that you're in the big leagues, Black Widow takes us back before Infinity war to follow Natasha's quests here there and everywhere. It'll be interesting to see where Pugh's character fits in.

Pugh seems to be playing a major role, featuring more than a few times in the trailer and also on the movie poster. Will she be fighting against or alongside Scarlett Johansson? She'll be playing the role of Yelena Belova, trained as a spy and assassin in the Red Room, the same place as Natasha Romanoff.

As of right now, Black Widow is scheduled to be released on July 9, 2021, in theatres and through Disney+ with Premier Access. It will be the first film in Phase Four of the MCU, and was delayed three times from an original May 2020 release date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to Black Widow, Pugh will also feature again as Yelena Belova in the upcoming Hawkeye mini-series set to be released in 2021, the series is currently in post-production.

Don't Worry Darling - 2021 (post-production)

Much like Midsommar, Don't Worry Darling is an upcoming psychological horror/thriller. You have to assume Pugh's performance in Midsommar landed her this role.

Directed by Olivia Wilde and written by Katie Silberman with Carey and Shane Van Dyke, Don't Worry Darling is set to be an eerie intense piece about a 1950's housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community.

Florence Pugh will be playing the role of Alice, the unhappy housewife who slowly begins to question her own sanity when she starts to notice strange occurrences in her small, utopian community in the California desert. She will be playing the role alongside Harry Styles.

We don't have a release date set as of yet but we do know that they're planning to release it sometime near the end of 2021.

The Maid - 2022 (Announced)

Florence Pugh is set to Star in the Murder Mystery The Maid for Universal based on Nita Prose’s debut novel of the same name.

With an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery feel to it we can expect to see Pugh flourish in the role. It centres around Molly, a perfect and pristine maid that leaves no marks behind. Whilst working her job, Molly starts to learn the dirty secrets of the place in which she works.

Universal’s Senior VP of Production Jeyun Munford and Creative Executive Christine Sun will oversee the pic on behalf of the studio.

I personally can't wait to see all these productions come to life and I can't wait to see what else Florence Pugh has in store for us.
